Ranch Hand

TomKat Ranch is an educational ranch located an hour from San Francisco and Santa Cruz, CA.

TomKat Ranch (Pescadero, CA) is looking to hire a motivated person to join our team to work with our Land & Livestock team to feed and care for livestock, and assist our Facilities team with general ranch repairs and maintenance.

Horses & Livestock

• Basic horse and livestock skills; ability to work with horses, livestock, and farm equipment in a safe manner. Training will be provided.

Facilities & Construction

• Basic construction skills; ability to work with hand and power tools in a safe manner. Training will be provided.

Working Conditions:  Must be able to:

• Work outdoors in heat, rain, dust, noise, cold.
• Lift heavy objects such as hay bales and grain bags.
• Work with power tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Perform physical work including, but not limited to, standing, walking, shoveling, and raking.

Required Skills & Abilities

• A friendly, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Can work independently as well as with a group.
• Follows directions and takes initiative.
• Open to learning about regenerative agriculture, pasture-based livestock systems.
• Valid California driver’s license with good driving record.
• Spanish speaking helpful, but not required.
• Basic English communication is required.

Salary and Benefits

• This is a full-time position, up to 9.5 hours per day and 55 hours per week including weekends. Compensation is $20-$25 per hour commensurate with experience and benefits.
